Theresa May prompts anger after telling nurse who hasn't had pay rise for eight years: 'There's no magic money tree' - Prime Minister asked whether she can 'sleep happily' while NHS staff use food banks

Yes, and she says right away and often after that she is a scientist there to apply a scientifically reasonable eye to his investigations. So when he says "Maybe leprechauns!" she shakes her head and points out there is nothing at all to support that claim... but when he says "maybe aliens!" and she has to cover up her scars from being abducted by them, close the door so the alien-human hybrid clones in the next room don't hear her, and close the window so the light from the UFO hovering above the building isn't so blinding, before pretending that her rejection of his suggestion is anything remotely based on scientific reason... that isn't skepticism, that's willfull ignorance.

Which is why I loved the episode where she got burned for following strict scientific methodology before inviting others to peer review... it gives the character an emotional reason to be irrational on the topic sometimes. Emotionally vested irrationality actually makes sense if she's personally and professionally biased from past trauma, it gives her character depth to those nonsensical rejections.
