Thirteen Russians criminally charged for interfering in US election, Mueller announces

personally, i condider it a thing of beauty to see indictments and evidence, and to learn the wider scope of their efforts. what's happened is terrible, but speaking for myself as a queer person (to reiterate: not speaking for anyone else, this is just me), my anxiety about the rising rate of propaganda-emboldened hate crime is given a tiny bit of hope. mustering what optimism i have left in me, i pray that this is the first step of americans learning how to sniff out bullshit, and starting to work past the damage.

but, that largely depends on how we, as a fractured nation, react to this development. i have a feeling the media isn't exactly going to report on this in a way that challenges people to reconsider their politics, and there are already wheels set in motion by these efforts. it could be that we're already on the spiral, and this is too little too late, but if i run with that, i won't be sleeping much.
