Those who have left SA, what has your experience been like so far?

I’ve lived in the US for more than 10 years. In some ways I started at the bottom of the career ladder in IT and I’ve had many promotions and a few job changes to the executive level. I live a humble but safe and secure life in a big city. I have everything I need. As someone else said, life is on easy mode. Whatever I need I can order online and it can be here same day or next day. I can afford all the gadgets my heart desires. My kid goes to a great private school. I don’t worry every day that someone is going to break in and steal my shit or murder my family for no reason. I don’t get homesick either cos culturally I never much cared for my ‘people’ (Afrikaner - painfully conservative and religious). I miss watching rugby, but that’s been replaced with following Formula 1.
