I fear the days of Uber & Bolt are coming to an end in South Africa.

Uber isn't a transportation company, it's actually closer the category of a social media company for the reason it connects peopleb who need different things.

You'll need a bit of business/economics background but fhe Uber business model itself is futile. They make their money at the stock market by trading and inflating their own stock. The Uber platform has burned through a lot of money from its inception. What makes it profitable is that large user bases are attractive to investors. Large user bases means you can provide different kinds of service's to your clients(like a social media site): That's what lead to the inception of UberEats.

As long as the need of people needing to go somewhere at this instant exists, the Uber platform will thrive as it provides a quick source of liquidity to it's drivers even if their cars are wearing down and petrol prices increases, it's a quick fix to a cashflow crisis that the Uber drivers fix. What I'm trying to say here is that what keeps any individual or business running is cashflow. No cash flow= bankrupt (like monopoly). Why Uber die is because people need money right now.
