thoughts on some double standards

It isn't that one is right and the other wrong - the problem is that the atheist complaint is the very pushing they themselves try to implement.

It doesn't matter who is pushing who. The "double standard", from my perspective, is the atheist idea that it's wrong for religious people to do it but perfectly okay or even "superior" for them to do it.

It's been my experience that, for the most part, religious people understand that their belief is belief and are not so rock solid in their beliefs that they would go about trying to convince others. Most are quite silent on such matters. Whereas, "atheists" seem to be quite militant. Even to the point that when they are caught out with illogical arguments, they implement some quite hilarious mental acrobatics to keep the title, "Atheist", despite the absurdity of it.

Modern "atheism" is a social/political, "look at me" chant designed to make the claimant appear intelligent and superior while having the exact opposite effect. Nothing whatsoever to do with thought or philosophy.

Theists understand that their beliefs are beliefs. "Atheists" simply don't care because the ends to which they are using the title as a means is completely different. It's the social desire of the young to be counted among "the cool kids" and the popular to make a living writing nonsensical books, refusing debate and making a name for themselves. They don't seem to care that the name they're making for themselves is "imbecile".

The modern atheist is the equivalent of the religious zealot - tyrants who have painted themselves into corners.
