Three-quarters of public support pharmacists prescribing their medication, survey results show

I don't know what is happening here, but for my Tribe's pharmacy, the pharmacists do most/all of that, just not the writing the prescriptions.

They do stuff as it comes in and goes, and close for a half day a week for more thorough chart reviews.

They catch a lot of stuff that the revolving door of PCP's miss. In December I got a call from the pharmacy saying I needed to get a blood draw and schedule an appointment with my PCP as I'd been on a statin for over a year without a lipid panel.

They also have an extra consult window on the clinic side so providers can ask them what they should prescribe (limited formulary can make things confusing for the revolving door of providers)

When they do have openings, they are on the IHS website as "Clinical Pharmacist" if you are interested in civil service and loan forgiveness.
