TIFU by getting fired because of the movie Supertroopers

I don't buy it. I can't imagine someplace firing over this unless you're a moron.

"Sorry, I don't know why it came out ma'am instead of sir."

I mean ffs, if everyone in a call center who called someone "sir" instead of ma'am or vice versa - the economy would collapse.

Or "no sir I said 'now'"

What manager in their fucking mind would fire someone who clearly a customer misheard?

Unless you stood there like a fucking buffoon and didn't even remotely try to deny it, I can't fathom how this ends in you getting fired.

Do you have any idea how fucking horrible turnover would be in restaurants if everytime a customer got pissed off and irate and tried to get a comp they fired someone?

Now, if you had been the cause for comps WAY more frequently than the rest of the team, and this was just the final straw? OK.

But what exactly was the example he was trying to make...? "If a customer mishears what you say, or if you accidentally EVER call someone sir/ma'am on accident - YOU WILL BE OUT OF HERE SO FUCKING QUICK, Y'UNDERSTAND ME?"

No. Absolutely not.
