TIL that the vast majority of vegetarians and vegans eventually return to meat.

That's just not true. I've seen many people make anti-vegetarian and anti-vegan posts get 200+ downvotes. If anything, it is the exact opposite.

In fact, I made a post about how growing up on a farm gave me a certain viewpoint seeing as how I watched and participated in the processing of farm animals. I'm the reason many chickens went from egg to pot, cows from calf to stew, pigs from piglet to pork chop, goats... you get my drift. That post was so heavily downvoted I've only made one other about the subject since. And watch with this post, vegans or vegetarians will come along, point out how I am a murderer and the downvotes will begin.

The reality is most of these people are the product of the 'burbs, and very few suburban kids even know what happens on the farm nor do many vegans or vegetarians. It is not brutal; it is not psychopathic; it is not murder... it is the way of this planet, the full circle of life. One life must give way to another. The old must step aside for the new. I felt the same about the piglets I once cradled and played with as I did each cornstalk. Life is a beautiful thing. With the right teachers and good examples of humanity at it's best, you learn to appreciate and respect life that much more.
