Tips to avoid catching feelings? (M25)

You sound so much like me when I first started dating after getting separated.

It's ok that you had feelings. You're probably a really sincere affectionate person.

I don't think there was anything you could have done to see red flags. If you become obsessed with seeing them or close yourself off you're going to miss out on so much. I know it hurts, I get that so much. I know you want to protect yourself in the future. I think you just have to check in with yourself that you are staying in the moment and that you are having fun.

Part of why I found dating really fun is I wasn't looking necessarily for a future with any of them. I was like, five dates with an incredible guy is so much fun. Or three. Or 20. Have fun, you deserve it. Take things one day at a time. Make sure no matter what that you are your top priority. Invest time in yourself, your interests, and your well-being. It won't be as crushing when things don't work out. If you are always good with yourself, you will always be alright.

Good luck with dating and please be kind to yourself.
