Tips for 5 A-Levels?

Opposite to some here. I did 6 and an epq (though one general studies but I wouldn’t count that). I know several people who did 6-8 and whilst it’s a fair bit of work it is ok imo. But would ideally need a few things to work out: - being very strong in a couple of subjects. In reality two of my subjects were walks in the park given my existing knowledge/interest. If you are already at a decent level in maths for example (which I assume you are if doing further maths) then that will obviously make the workload easier. - revise well. You have exam heavy subjects. This means you will need good exam and revision technique. If you’re good at maths, knocking out past papers (with solutions) is great revision imo. - don’t fall behind. Definitely handy if you can smash AS and get as far ahead on grades as possible. Aim for 100% in AS if you can to secure decent grades with no pressure going into A2. You can then go all out where you want to for A stars or safely get As with little effort if you don’t need to. - budget your efforts - know where your strengths/weaknesses are either at a subject level or within a subject. One of my subjects I did no revision for but got 100% in the A2 exam because I was well ahead of the syllabus. Other subjects I had to do a lot more work on to get good exam technique. - smart with grade targeting/resits etc. Don’t be spooked if you need a resit/remark. I got screwed by bad marking in one exam along with a few classmates and a remark got me 2 grades higher lol. I also did resit one AS exam to boost the grade to 100% from 85. Essentially free points with little extra revision and made an A so much easier to get in A2.
