Seems that inspite of not having a career, your wife is a very smart lady academically. She seems to be frustrated about not having a good career.

Somewhere she is blaming you for her career but that doesn't make any sense to me as you have cooks/maids/nannies.

Ask her what specific issue dos she have with your mom and you can work on that. Leaving widowed mom alone at this age definitely is not right.

From what you wrote here, your wife seems to be an unreasonable lady. But maybe there are nuances we are misisng out. Did she have enough help with childcare during her exams.

Did you guys discuss her career before marriage?

If she continue this way, divorce is the only solution- a toxic marriage is hard upon kids too.
