Is it true that daydreaming, complaining, venting, and coming late in front CEO are enough to get you fired in USA? If yes, what's the ethical rationale?

I think you are kind of ignoring some of the finer details of these examples. The first example is not just about being late but making a show of things. Being late is only part of it.

I recently fired a guy because he was habitually late. Not just late once.

The next two are just examples of behaviors that are considered counterproductive in the workplace. It doesn't say they are crimes, they are just simply counterproductive. There's nothing really wrong with recognizing what is or is not counterproductive. Complaining about things is counterproductive period. In both life and work. Not taking on extra work means that you could be Shifting the burden of that work unfairly on to somebody else.
