Unrelated to island owning, I used to be really into the synthwave scene (produced a ton of it, particularly Brut/GosT horror style stuff, curated some sets, never quite NRW material but I digress.) Anyways there used to be this huge synthwave Facebook group run by a couple of big names and this one dude would always post his "inspired" albums there that were just- I mean I don't like being mean but they were shit. They were tremendously shit, I'm not going to sugar coat it, they were bland overly repetitive garbage trying to capitalize on existing sounds that the artist simply didn't understand how to recreate (and boy howdy that's saying something for synthwave.)

Anyway one day he posts about a production stream and while he's streaming he's all "check this out!" And shows us a person buying his latest crap album for like several thousand dollars with the name your price feature on bandcamp and it's fucking Notch. Apparently Notch gives this random dude like several thousand dollars every time he makes a new album, he's like whatever the reverse of a classical art philanthropist is just shoveling his money into the worst content creators possible and that's apparently where his big ass pile of money fucking goes.
