trying to keep going

My breakup happened the week that I started classes (I'm 32 and finishing a post-bacc.). It's been a very hard breakup and we're still working on separating our lives (we have a house together).I had to talk with my processors and let them know that I was going through personal issues. I missed 2 assignments and didn't want them to think a was bad student. It's been 1 month and I still find it hard to concentrate at times, I find myself reading the textbook and halfway through a paragraph my mind wanders and I need to read it over again. I found that if I study or do work in a public place it helps for a few reasons; 1) I don't want to be there so I'll be more inclined to finish what I'm working on. 2) I'm not surrounded by stuff that reminds me of him. 3) I'm less likely to cry in public. Each day does slowly get better. Also it helps to make a calendar with your assignments and exams so that you don't forget. You need to finish school for you and you can't let the other person highjack this part of your life too.
