TW: Defending Riva’s mom by calling her opposers “woke fundamentalists” and comparing it to Iran. This is the stupidest take I’ve ever read. Didn’t have the heart to screenshot everything.

Don't drag Iran everywhere.. it's where young girls are fighting for their rights and freedom and being labelled "evil" in those cases is something everyone would disagree whereas this is clearly making a minor being exposed to the darker aspects of social media without even realising how deep this shit can go.

1) A minor can't even give consent before 18 (I am sure her lawyer mother would know) and the mother is clearly responsible to take care of her safety and yes the mother is the one who deserves calling out in this case. The mother doesn't even clarify anything about the child's age in her recent enraging post about this issue. It is really suspicious.

2) Will you let your child to do this ? Most of you supporting this shit won't even dare to do something like this with your child. So stop this hypocrisy and call out when it is happening to the "other child" also. Every kid's safety is important.

3) This is not being "woke fundamentalists", this is society collectively doing something about the safety of children on social media - sexualisation of minors, minors being exploited in the social media, minors being indulged without their consent etc., and be relieved that major part of the society is being disturbed by it rather than sitting and enjoying the show, or ogling at a kid like all those stupid men do in the profile of that kid.

4) Are you sure the pictures of this girl who posts online innocently mimicking bollywood videos are not used for any other purpose in the wider spectrum of web? Where we clearly, now and then, see lots of innocent girls pictures being sold for money in the name of "porn"? What are you gonna do about it?

5) Did you even consider about the mental health of the kid being engaged in these at such an young age ? How disturbing it would be for her when she grows up with social media from this young age?

6) "But not unlike many other pre-teen girls online" - Just because everybody does it won't make it right. Atleast by doing a calling out in this case, it will encourage government/the relevant social media owners to do something about the exposure and exploitation of kids on social media and improve the safety.

7) Lastly about "evil" - the creator who wrote about that didn't call them "evil" and only this incident "evil" afaik.

8) Go and call out all those middle-aged men who acted with her or directed her without any conscience. Call out all those men who use her in "age-inappropriate" roles.

THIS IS NOT A REBEL SHIT. STOP COMPARING THIS TO THE IRAN WHERE GIRLS REBELLING TO THE OPPRESSION AND PATRIARCHY THEY HAVE BEEN UNDER FOR YEARS.

WHEREAS THIS IS BLATANTLY MAKING A KID EXPOSED TO THE "EVIL" OF SOCIAL MEDIA. YES, THIS IS "EVIL".

And by giving importance to this one word - evil - which can be interpreted in many ways and subject to discussion, you are clearly digressing from the main issue and this is what "woke people" do as far as i have seen.
