/u/jrohila explains unflinchingly what a Finn does in case of invasion by Russia

I think all of that is still relevant. More people are willing to fight if they think they have a good chance.

No I don't think it is. Since that is a completely different topic altogether. I mean if we are going to go into said field; we may as well just argue that it would be impossible for the Russian's to ever even attack the U.S. as a war with them would almost result in nuclear annihilation, and even if it didn't. They don't have much of a chance in conventional warfare against the U.S.

I mean shit we can start discussing completely different scenarios if you don't want to stick to the original argument anymore.

Blitzkrieg doesn't mean "surprise war" it means "lightening war". As in, fast and powerful. They did take the Soviets by surprise because of the treaty, but everyone else was aware war was likely with Germany.

Yeah and a "lightening war" just happens to catch people by surprise. It is called a lightening war because of the speed of which it was developed. If countries weren't expecting him to mobilize his forces or act as fast you don't think they were surprised?

But how many? That's what I'm arguing about here. Most Iraqis have run away from fighting.

Most have, true, but more than enough have been fighting to having tied up U.S. troops for over a decade, and insurgencies are re-surging in that part of the world now again. So they never really died off anyway. So is there resistance? Absolutely.

In fact, much resistance in modern history has been forced upon people by a political group. Like when the Taliban force people to plant IEDs. And even with using that tactic, they still don't have most people working for them.

It doesn't if it was organized due to a political group, or by the local UAW club, or by the boy scouts.

None of that matters.

Was there a resistance. Yes? Ok I'm correct then.

Again it is a yes or no question.

History has shown any modern country's populace rejects invasion by foreign powers.

Since you wanted to use history as the measuring stick. Then due to recent history; I seem to be correct.
