I used to take a lot of opiates, now I am taking kratom to detox... question.

I can't say for sure. I don't know and wouldn't want to mislead. I think you're switching to kratom and it's active opioid constituents will in a way "prolong" your original WD from the OG opiates. But it's likely trading for a lesser evil.

If you do it right, and I think there's a long guide in the sidebar on doing this, but it will vary by each person's use history, the intensity of use, and personal chemical makeup, that shouldn't be a major concern. In either case, regardless of the answer to your question, it probably won't be pain free. There's no free ticket out. That said, I think kratom can help immensely as I said in the previous comment. I don't know if the semantics of the question you're asking matter in the scheme of things - but if you research you can draft a plan where you stay on kratom only as long as necessary, and do a quick taper from that, and then ideally you can be free.

But you'll need to make other life changes like seeing a therapist or finding another outlet and really self-examining. Eating healthy, working out, anything you can do to re-balance your neurochemistry.
