UserBenchmark has been changing the accusations on their about page for 4 months now. Why?

I'm not a fan of userbenchmark or hardware unboxed but i will say what userbenchmark made fun of was a dumb statement by hardware unboxed

Basically hardware unboxed said all things equal a quad core CPU with cores at 1ghz would outperform a 4ghz single core CPU

This is a poor assumption to make as you'd need programs which are able to take advantage of 4 theads efficiently just to break even here. Many programs still only efficiently use 1-2 threads, so in most cases the quad core 1ghz would be slower. Thus overall all else being equal a single core 4ghz is going to outperform a quad core 1ghz in general.

Multicore is only good when: 1) the application makes use of the multiple cores 2) the work of the multiple cores added up equals significantly more than a cpu with less cores would have been able to accomplish for the same task in the same time.
