Users in FitnessCircleJerk brigade a thread in /r/UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG/ to make fun of Redditors who are making fun of Crossfit...entitlement and butts all the way down this rabbit hole of fitness drama.

I dunno. A lot of what they do is funny when they're on their own sub, but after getting brigaded by them, you start to wonder about whatever else might be going on in the background.

I made a very silly mistake once and mentioned something a high-profile professional trainer had said about body fat percentage and a client. (IIRC it was in defense of Gal Gadot's work training for BvS and Wonder Woman -- the weight of opinion on Reddit was against her because she wasn't considered "big" enough in publicity photos that had likely been taken fairly early in production.) It got linked to /r/fitnesscirclejerk, the brigade descended, and life got somewhat hellish for a few days.

They were entirely correct, and I'm glad it was pointed out because I fixed the post and apologized. It really was a very stupid mistake, and I'm embarrassed in hindsight that I took the trainer at his word. However, nothing was going to stop the tidal wave of abuse and dick pics in the inbox. When it started getting really bad, I messaged the OP and asked him to please add an .np to his link in the sub (in the likely-pointless hope that things would quiet down) and he refused. Toward the end I actually broke down and cried when I pulled Reddit up and saw another dozen hateful, jeering messages to get through. There didn't seem to be any way to stop it, and there's no point in trying to talk to a mob or even apologize to them. Just delete, shut up, go away for a few days, and wait until they get bored and find a new target.

Hands down my worst experience on Reddit to date. I nearly quit the site, and would be lying if I said it hadn't impacted how I've posted since then.

I've honestly had better experiences arguing with someone who was writing an apologia for Kim il-Sung's concentration camps.
