WA State: Being forced to resign?

Believe me, I regret stating it. This is my first time working for a gigantic national corporation that doesn't care one way or another about its employees (in my 7 months with them, we've had over 50% turnover of our entire staff for varying reasons, and 3 positions are still vacant), and it's been a learning experience for me, primarily that I will avoid working for another national corporation again at all costs. However, our policy handbook states that in order for my employment to end, I must specifically state that I am voluntarily resigning my position, effective xxx date OR the company must fire me. It says nothing about intent, only specifics. Do you mind sharing your opinion on how that may change the situation? I appreciate your time!
