Walter Williams: Hiring Based on Race and Sex Is a Disaster Waiting To Happen

I worked in office services for a large global consulting corporation. In order to fill in their diversity bingo cards, they filled in almost all of their non-consultant positions with minorities, women, religious minorities, and LGBT+.

Out of around 35 employees in office services, I think maybe 5-8 were what you'd consider competent. Me and a Hispanic coworker ended up as being the default guys who carried heavy stuff, diagnosed problems with copiers and printers, repaired office furniture, managed the cleaning staff, and handled all relations with electric/plumber techs since none of the diversity fruits could be bothered with such things. We had to carry the weight of so many goddamn marginal employees, and if you made any kind of complaint or asked for a pay raise to reflect the massive disparity of output and productivity, then you were labeled as not being a team player and would get a bad quarterly personnel review, which of course would then be used at the end of the year to deny a pay raise.

I loved that work environment so much I literally left the fucking country to go teach English overseas, lol.
