Wanting to learn how to coupon efficiently.

Afullcup was the site I was HEAVY into for years. I ran several coupon trains. Held giveaways and swaps as well as moderated several forums. Eventually we became unable to use 99% of what coupons offer. No processed food at all. I have to make my own mayo, salsa etc because we can have NO distilled vinegar.

I compared how much we spend when we did local shopping with the farmers market, aldi and a local market to the extreme couponing and have found that for things like cat food couponing is still the way to go. The rest not so much. In all of my years couponing ONCE I found a coupon for Borax. I bought enough for ten years because I have never seen it since. I have enough health and beauty for a long time.

The other products I still coupon for is papertowels and TP. I have yet to find a better price than couponing for those. PT's are mostly for work and the household uses microfiber cloths.

If we go back to canned tuna then I would coupon for that because I have yet to find a better price.

For everything else it isn't worth it to us. We save more money shopping local.

IF you eat canned food, packaged food, frozen food, soda, need laundry detergent and that kind of disposable lifestyle then couponing can save you 80% off your bill and that was our goal. If a trip was not at 80% off with coupons it was considered a failed trip. We were very extreme.

It was an interesting 5 year experiment that I am glad I lived but do not ever want to repeat. I want to find ways to pay the price I want without relying on coupons.

A word of advice, if you are going to coupon get a printer and a couple of laptops so you can get at least four prints per coupon. Most stores limit you to four of the same coupon per trip.

Good Luck.

Man I am so glad to be free of that lifestyle...it was intense for sure.
