Communist nations have given us some of the most violent chapters of the drug war on the planet.

When Communism goes off the rails, this idea takes hold that you as a citizen need to devote yourself to the "state" because it is a generous and loving machine...as long as you constantly praise the "party" and don't criticize anything.

Can't have drugs distracting the population from worshipping the "utopia" their benevolent leader-god made for them.

Drugs are good at stirring the pot.

Communists don't like that.

Shit, even Capitalists don't like hippies questioning the rape and plunder of resources and people.

Communists will throw you in jail just as quickly for drug use as Capitalists. Different sides of the same coin, really. Dehumanizing and taking rights from drug users is always done to protect the "fabric of society" in either economic model.
