War veteran Michael Prysner exposing the U.S. government in a powerful speech. He along with 130 other veterans got arrested after.

I barely ever comment. But the times of smelly butler were of a different age. Certainly not the same today, perhaps of some similarity. Also, I would like to talk about the Iraq war and it’s reasons for happening, in which I’m not certain that it was purely for economic gain—key words purely. I imagine there were many competing interests and reasons for going into Iraq, as there are many who hold influence from the executive and legislative branch. But anyhow, one major reason for the war of Iraq seems to have something to do with something called the DEMOCRATIC PEACE THEORY, in which it simply holds that nations that are liberal democracies tend to not fight with one another—a interesting concept and one that certainly seems to be true! May I also add that Iraq was not a sure fire thing, many actually opposed it, for Iraq and Iran checked one another in terms of power and warring. With this realism—pertaining to international relations—a time of stability came with it. Think about it the United States was defending Arabia and the smaller nations such as Kuwait to the south of Iraq. And as mentioned previously Iran checked Iraq to its East.

There also seems to be this idea that with the collapse of the Soviet Union, now was the time to shape the world in ones view. As the Soviet Union checked the United States and vice versa—perhaps an a example can be Vietnam and Afghanistan.

Anyways I am sure I can go on and on, but the point is there is more then what meets the eye. Yes there were those who benefited from the war, as history has shown, there will be those who find a way to opportune themselves in a time when many find such “practices” unfavorable.

I would like to know what you guys think. Thanks for reading—if you did at all.
