I'm not his psychologist, I have no way of peering into his mind. and I'm definitely not trying to excuse any of the bad things he did. But people diagnosing other people over the internet based upon simplified nonsense or misinformation, really rubs me the wrong way.

A lot of human interaction is based upon subtle shades of domination and submission over other people, humans generally like this to happen in a not to overt way, but that doesn't mean that it's not there.

The pop-psychology idea that only "sociopaths" are attracted to power over other people is flat out wrong. You weren't saying that, but you seemed to be going in that direction.
