Weekend 1 vs Weekend 2

This was my first time at weekend 2 and I'll be in the minority and say I think weekend 1 is better. At least for me. First, the grass does add a lot to the experience. After one day at weekend 2, there's so much dust in my lungs even though I wore a mask, I feel like garbage..and I've been to Burning Man before. I will say the lines are shorter and there's more space to move around but there's also less hype. People seemed a bit more mellow which is good and bad in terms of crowd energy. It seemed like this year a lot of people who weren't fans would crowd the stages and then talk the entire time and were generally disinterested in the music but were only there because they heard it was a must see from weekend 1.

There's a sort of magic of surprise during weekend 1, which I didn't feel was there for weekend 2. Yeah there's sound issues but the energy in the performances are also different -- some are more polished but there were really no surprises. So much of a live show has to do with energy -- from the crowd and the audience, which I don't feel was there for the weekend 2 crowd.
