You are misrepresenting u/dko5 and yes I will defend him because he is the first Respawn employee to actively talk to us in the comments. Everyone coming at him is toxic as hell, he stayed very chill for most of his responses and I don't blame him for getting a little unprofessional when all of these Reddit users are accusing him personally as being tied to this monetization event. You know businesses like Respawn are made up of many employees, some only work on art, some only work on programming. Not everyone at Respawn is directly in charge of squeezing every last penny out of gamers.

He directly said Iron Crown has already been a success financially, they've looked at price reductions in the shop and found the $18 skin sells just as many units as the reduced price, and they aim to make money off of cosmetics so they can keep this game updated for the future. Everything he said revolved around Respawn as a business making money so that Apex can exist and continue to get support.
