What an exxxxxxxxxxtra shitty take.

Atheism had a resurgence in the early 2010s when people found out that there was a collective piece to criticize between the Christian fundamentalists at home and the Middle East's continued problems abroad: organized religion.

One of the issues that this revelation/movement presented was how much people really started to dislike Muslim people in the mid 2010s. Now, this wasn't all for no reason- ISIS was in the forefront of peoples fears and attacks were happening on our soil (Pulse Nightclub). Remember, if you will, how core the promise of "ending Islamic terrorism" was to Trumps 2016 platform.

This obviously led to a lot of fear and paranoia and general malice toward the local Muslim populations, to which they responded "this is unfair, we are oppressed (tm), you shouldnt criticize us". That, of course, is enough to dissuade your average liberal from continuing to be critical of contemptuous religious beliefs, but there was a "true believer" section of the critics who said "wait, none of my opinion about your religious beliefs goes away because you aren't a majority." Those people were just Islamaphobes according to the writer.

To put it into the mold of class reductionism, class reductionists are the new atheists, criticizing all components and benefactors of capitalism, and wanting to get rid of capitalism as the 2010s atheists wanted to get rid of organized religion. Class reductionists are further in that "true believer" category because the critique of capitalism doesn't end when oppressed (tm) people are benefitting from it, which to the writer is comparable to genocide
