What are the perks of being single?

I definitely agree you have more freedom and I really valued being single/casually seeing people for a while, particularly because I lived alone at the time. Helped me figure myself out more.

BUT that said, a lot of people here are acting like if you're in a relationship you never get any time to yourself, first pick in any decisions (especially TV), or any time for hobbies, other friends, or having the option of ending the relationship if it isn't making you happy/inhibits you pursuing your goals.

My SO & I don't spend every minute together, have both mutual & non mutual friends we hang out with often separately, hobbies and passions we encourage the other to pursue, take turns picking what to watch, and in a year if we both can't achieve our career/educational goals and stay together have agreed a breakup will be best for both of us (obvs we'll try and make it work but our dreams come first)

So yeah just....take a lot of this with a grain of salt, I guess. There are benefits to both. The only things that make one better than the other are your needs, the time in your life, and the other person. Sometimes it's great to be single. Sometimes it's great to not.
