What are some skills people think are difficult to learn but in reality are easy and impressive?

Except I'm not misunderstanding anything and I think it's very arrogant of you to assume that I don't understand something simply because my experience doesn't fit your world view. For you to then start assuming what my background is, based on zero information, is absurd.

OP asks what is a skill that is easy and impressive? A guy replies "coding." I am simply stating my experience of 10+ years being able to code - both professionally and as an enthusiast - that non-computer people of all ages and backgrounds have never been impressed by my ability to code.

The fact that you have twice now said that people would be impressed by the ability to make a game shows that it is you who has made the misunderstanding since this subthread is discussing coding, not game development. The two things are not the same, even if they are related.

Maybe people are impressed by game development, I have no idea.
