What are some tips and tricks on living alone?

1) You need to take care of your space. Clutter and mess is fine to a point, but if you're not regularly cleaning or doing upkeep at least on a weekly basis, it will add up, and it will quickly grow beyond what you feel that you can control.

2) If you cook, both cookware and spices will be a pain in your ass. Just buy them as you go.

3) Similar to 2, learn to prepare meals in bulk, and freeze them in tupperware. Cooking single servings is a goddamn pain, and unless you have constant guests and you're paying for dinner, it won't work out. That being said, you'll also be ready to bring people over for dinner. Same cleanup, less freezing.

4) If you eat rice frequently, learn to cook Sinangag. You can look up proper recipes, but the most important thing is to use rice from yesterday. When you cook rice for yourself, you can throw it in the fridge, and then make an impromptu meal or side the next day with some garlic, egg, and not a whole lot else, unless you're feeling enthusiastic.

5) Lock your door when you leave. You're the only one living there, and if that changes without your knowing, you've got big problems.

TL;DR: Keep things clean, even if you have to plan it. If you cook, planning it will be less of a pain.
