What is/are “true” solutions to housing/rental crisis in GTA?

Reducing immigration is a terrible plan.

Nope, it is not.

We’re currently facing a population crunch on our welfare system because of the sheer number of boomers we’re supporting.

How many people do we need? We only have like 5-6 cities to accommodate newcomers. I am not saying we should stop immigration, just reduce it by half and stop all parents, grandparents from coming who will leech off the healthcare system or buy up multiple homes since they may bring money from their home countries.

building more housing in areas with high demand are the best solutions

How many units can we build? We need to focus on more remote job opportunities for white-collar desk jobs and govt should give incentives to companies that have such job offerings, this will make it easier for people to spread out.

In all, we can't compete with countries like USA or China or even Japan as they have >100M people, and we shouldn't be aiming for such a big number.
