Are there any real Christians?

I'll try to clarify if I can. I was a Christian for many years. I became an atheist a few years ago because as I got older, the Bible made less and less sense. But I didn't give up on the Bible or learning about religion in general.

Then one day I was reading and everything just started to click. Not only is the more popular literal interpretation of the Bible incorrect, but the Bible itself predicts that people will mistakenly interpret it that way.

Not just me, by the way. If you read Dante, Homer, Virgil, Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, Shakespeare, George Orwell, Isaac Asimov—they all saw this too, it's right there in their writings for anyone with enough comparable context to see it. Writers are more likely to get it, because writers are readers and abstract thinkers. The more widely you read, the clearer this becomes.
