What are your thoughts on Tenet ? Here’s my review.

I say this as a massive Nolan fan: Tenet is absolutely one of his worst efforts and it’s terrible to the point where I’ve even questioned whether the films I like from him are even any good. The plot is as generic as it gets (stopping WW3? what?) and often convoluted at times (e.g. I had no idea why the final battle was even taking place, to retrieve an algorithm or something?). Completely uninteresting characters, and 99% of the dialogue was dull and expository. A lot of criticism for Inception was that there was too much expository dialogue; this is understandable, however in the case of Inception this dialogue at least helped you understand what was happening. In Tenet, there’s expository dialogue and it’s still very difficult to comprehend what is going on. It’s just a failure of storytelling. And the awful audio mixing certainly didn’t help. The soundtrack was pretty great though I will admit.
