What are your thoughts on the British citizens with Irish heritage applying for Irish citizenship after Brexit?

It is not so relevant with Ireland and the UK as we had and still have the common area travel agreement which was put in place before we even joined the EU and EEC before that.

We must remember not everyone in the UK voted for Brexit, it was practically 49% vs 51%.

We always will have a close relationship with the UK (even if some UK politicians would like us to not remember this).

And as us Irish and our Expats have gone around the world, a healthy sense of Irish diaspora is not a bad thing or Irish expats applying for Citizenship.

Citizenship is about a sense of belonging and I expect many have that sense yet there will always be and has always been down through the ages those who use citizenship as a convenience.

It is far more than that and if you are entitled to it, want it, go for it and let Ireland be stronger because of it!
