What are your unpopular opinions?

Your comment makes me feel extremely uncomfortable, to be honest. I understand what you're saying, but... I don't know. It's hard for me to articulate. I haven't been raped, but I have been molested, and the general response I got was, "it's not that bad so just get over it already." No one took it seriously and I don't think they cared enough to see me as being different/broken; they only saw me as an attention seeker. I felt more broken from that than anything else. I agree that rape survivors/sexual abuse survivors in general shouldn't be seen as fundamentally "different" or broken btw, but I still don't think it should be compared to a robbery.

I've always thought that rape as a concept makes the general public upset, but when they're confronted with individual rape cases, that's when the tune changes to, "lol not so bad tbh" (unless the rapist was a stranger with a gun or something). That's just my impression though, and that's also why your comment makes me uneasy -- because I don't think people take rape seriously enough.
