What caused you to laugh the hardest you’ve ever laughed?

I'm late to the game but thought I'd share the story about the time my daughter got dropped off freshman year and her dad's truck door fell off in the parent loop.

Tl;dr below

My ex- husband was dropping off our daughter at high school. He was driving his dad's old work truck. Not the greatest looking vehicle, but it got you where you needed to go (usually). So being a high school freshman our daughter was already embarrassed to be dropped off and seen getting out of an old beat up truck.

She tried to do her usual hurry up and get out before anyone sees her, except this time when she went to shut the door, the metal pins, bolts? holding the door in the hinges fell out. The door was very heavy and there was no way she could hold it up by the handle so it hit the ground with a loud bang causing everyone to look to see what happened. School was getting ready to start so there was a nice sized crowd.

My daughter was mortified. Instead of sticking around to help her dad, she ran off without saying a word. Now her dad wasn't a "typical looking" dad. He was a bodybuilder that looked intimidating but was also a goof who liked to embarrass his kids in typical dad ways. His favorite was to sing Backstreet boys loudly with the windows down when dropping them off or picking them up. To make it worse his go-to outfit was often a raggedy, worn out, see through tank top he called a "stringer". It looked like a dam string that's for sure. It didn't even cover a nipple let alone both of them. He usually paired these "stringers" with some bright colored gym pants.

Since he was pretty recognizable, as our daughter was trying to blend into the crowd to ignore what was happening, several of her friends came up asking her if that was her dad and should they go help him. By this time he had begun to lose his shit and was becoming more and more angry. He was stopped in the parent drop-off lane blocking the flow of traffic and impatient parents began to honk. My daughter described the scene as him loudly "throwing a fit" trying to hold the door up, put the bolts in, and constantly having to stop to aggressively wave the parents to go around him. Each time he had to stop to go direct traffic he let the door loudly slam onto the pavement.

Being the calm, cool, collected person he was not, he finally had enough. He picked up the door above his head and aggressively threw it into the back of the truck. He proceeded to drive off in an angry rush causing the contents of a messy truck to go flying into the parking lot. We joke that he was probably late for a workout. My daughter said you could hear the truck speeding off with a trail of papers seen flying out behind him.

To make it worse, during lunch that day several kids were kind enough to collect some of the papers and contents that flew out so she could return them to her father.

She was angry with him for awhile because "a grown man doesnt need to have a temper tantrum in the parent loop". It's still a touchy subject for both of them, but since I wasn't there I love telling people the story. Over the years they have slowly shared more details that were previously too painfully embarrassing to share. I have even seen my daughter trying hard not to smile when everyone else is crying with laughter. I'm hopeful one day she'll be able to laugh along with us.

Tl;dr - Heavy metal truck door flew off in front of high school during morning drop off. Angry bodybuilder dad could not put back on, proceeded to drive off with no door losing contents of truck all over the parking lot. Daughter didn't talk to dad for long time because he "threw a fit".
