When I was at uni my friend and I rented an apartment which was within a large house originally owned by a wealthy business man (I think the house was built in 1820). The apartment was beautiful and we got it for incredibly cheap rent. The house consisted of 8 apartments, mine was on the ground floor which had three flats, the main entrance and a set of stairs leading up to the next floor.

One day I was coming in from wherever came through the main entrance and was about to go into my apartment front door, when I saw some fabric come through the gaps in the banister on the upper floor, as if someone was walking by. I thought I would wait a minute as we had just moved in and whoever was coming down the stairs would be a neighbour and I should probably introduce myself. So I wait a few seconds turn toward the stairs and I see a lady wearing Victorian clothing sort of floating down the stairs, it didn't really register with me in that moment what I was seeing, she got close to the bottom of the stairs and vanished.

A few weeks later again the same scenario I'm coming in from somewhere and see fabric between the gaps in the banister, this time however, I hear two children giggling, one of them said "quick,quick hide she's here" who then ran down the hall out of view laughing.

I'm not one to believe in ghosts and brush the idea off but with stomping footsteps on the stairs and no one being on them, cupboard doors opening on there own, light fixtures swinging violently I can't find an explanation. What I do know however, is if a beautiful apartment is incredibly cheap don't rent that bitch.
