Every Friday in the winter my middle school would send kids for winter activities for the day. It was great because most of my friends and I were already pretty advanced snowboarders and skiers so we got to skip the lessons portion.

I was with a group of friends and I had a crush on one of the girls so I figured I could show off in the park by hitting one of the big advanced rails at the bottom of the run. It was a bad idea. I had too much speed and I launched over the first section of the rail. I panicked and started rolling up the windows and lost my coordination. Instead of landing on the rail with my board I landed with my shin. It hurt like hell, but I tried to keep my composure the best I could and I just road it out the rest of the day.

At the end of the day when I was taking off my gear I noticed some lady staring at my leg I looked down and my boot was soaked in blood and I could see a the muscle, fat, and bone. All she said was "you need to go to first aid right now." Took like 10 stitches to close up.
