I work for a large company. Overall good place to work, but my biggest pet peeve is when the district manager stops by. Understandably, this manager has completely different responsibilities than me. I do one type of work and he does another. But, don’t come on the floor during a big rush and coach that “just having a positive attitude will make everything okay”. Sure, positive attitudes can help, but it doesn’t fix everything. He does not see the struggles we face in that role because that’s not his type of work, just as I don’t see his struggles. Just don’t assume the all-knowing god role because you’re in a higher position.
