Some opinions flat-out are not worthy of respect. To the same tune, not every idea is a good idea. Obviously I’m not going to pick fights with people on small things, but some people have opinions on issues that are completely wrong and ignore all logic or reason. I’m not going to respect your ideas if you’re not going to take the time to understand an issue and at least put forth an educated thought on it. I think sometimes this gets over-blown when people argue on the Internet so it’s probably not as bug of a deal in real life, but it’s just something that bothers me. You hear all this preaching about “everyone’s opinion is valuable” and “respect each other’s opinions” when the truth is some people are so purposefully ignorant about certain issues that there is no good reason to respect their opinion on them.
