What Lurks in the Shadow

Karna: Ah, sunflowers.... They represent loyalty, adoration, and good harvests. Isn't that nice?

Hans: Sunflowers, huh... I recall an origin story for that. Once, there was a nymph named Clytie who longed for Apollo. She gazed at him from his sun chariot--

Sunny: Apollo? It should be Helios, since he's the actual sun deity there who rides the sun chariot.

Hans: What's with you and sun deities--never mind. That was a silly question. Anyway, she was obsessed with him but he loved another. Leucothoe, a princess. Due to her overwhelming jealousy, she spread the tales of the princess and sun god's love affair.

Karna: Andesen, you're talking a lot.

Hans: Ugh, you want a "TL;DR?" Fine, then! A girl was so thirsty for sun god.. *glare*

Sunny: W-what's with that look you're giving me...?

Hans: ...but he didn't love her. She then ratted out princess and sun god's trysts. The princess died. The bitter nymph is still obviously ignored. She then also died because didn't eat or drink for nine days. But her thirst had no limits! She turned into a flower, a sunflower, so she could continue to gaze at the sun.

I don't really know what to say about the story... I've read that she turned into a heliotrope actually. Meh. There are always different versions of tales.
