The Samiri made them materialistic by telling them that God exists in wealth and resources, and therefore seeking wealth would make them closer to the Divinity. And that there is no truth in deep philosophical reflections on parity, rights, and spirituality because Moses has been misled by illusory speculations, but the only real truth is in gaining the material riches and the happiness that comes from possessing them. Therefore they should abandon the God of Moses because He teaches you the hard path of righteousness and struggle for spiritual goodness, and instead follow the easy hedonistic path of pleasure and materialism where the successes of life can be clearly seen and recognized like the roaring golden bull.
