My brother and I had gotten a brand new Spongebob marble set for our 7th birthday, where you build a structure, put a marble at the top and watch as it goes down.

We decided, in our infinite wisdom as kids, to open the packaging using a butter knife. My brother took the knife, placed it underneath the tape and pulled hard. It cut the tape, and the knife flew up...

Right into my eye.

Now, it didn't hit my eye or pierce it in any way- it slid right past, hit some blood vessels and that was that. But it could have taken my eye out, or even reached my brain for an impromptu lobotomy had things not gone so strangely well. We kind of laugh about it now.
