What moment in video games made you go "fuck this"?

There was this PC version of Ultima years ago, long before the on-line version, and before the internet (yeah, I'm old). You would have to keep notes while exploring the world, picking up clues. How to mix reagents for spells, where certain rare ingredients are - this was before games had maps that kept track of all that. So, after playing on a computer in a university computer lab, after hours for weeks, I had pages of notes and was ready for the final boss fight. It was a 6 hour fight consisting of several parts and you had to consult your notes for answers to riddles, etc. to get to the end, and then you had to answer a final question. I had it narrowed down to 2 answers, guessed wrong and said, fuck it, I'm done.
