I'm 17, it's around 11pm, I'm driving my truck with a friend in the passenger seat. On a three-lane road (one per direction + turn lane), and a cop ahead is wrapping up after having someone pulled over. I'm going the speed limit (30 or 35mph) and am about 75ft away when with no indication the cop starts to pull back onto the road.

I hit the brakes and go around him, half in the turn lane, and I didn't have time to slow down much so I wasn't going much under the speed limit when I passed him. About 500ft ahead is a stop light, red. Just as I'm pulling up the cop turns on his lights.

He pulls up next to me, in the turn lane, shines one of those 2k lumen spotlights at my face, and makes these huge motions for me to roll down my window. I do, heart racing a thousand miles per hour. He yells at me, "Don't you have any respect for an officer of the law?" I responded immediately, without thinking: "You didn't use your turn signal!" He stares at me for maybe a second, then just floors it through the red light.
