What is the nicest thing a police officer has done for you?

After my work closed one night I was driving away when I decided to stop at a store in the same strip mall. I parked and got out and I don't even know what distracted me, but I'm an idiot and I managed to lock myself out of the car with the car still running. That sucks no matter what, but in my case was much worse bc my car always overheated if I let it idle too long. Also it was raining. Luckily I knew there was almost always at least one police car in the shopping plaza parking lot. So I jogged through the rain and knocked on the window and begged this police officer (who had his wife or gf in the car with him) to help me bc my car was going to over heat if I didn't get in there soon. Turned out he was a detective and was only doing patrol for over time. The car wasn't his so he wasn't sure where the stuff to get in a locked car was. He found a jimmy first and tried for a while and called for back up. Before the back up came he did find the wedge and was able to get into my car. May not seem like much, but I've locked myself out of my car before (seriously I'm just dumb) and I asked an officer for help and they said no and told me to call a lock smith. That detective not only saved me the money I would have spent on a lock smith, but he probably saved my car too. Locksmith's can take hours to show up. My car would have overheated and died by that point. He ditched his old lady in the car who was probably his wife that missed him bc he was working so much and got rained on with me instead of blowing me off. It was really nice of him.

Yes, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that it was his wife and not something shady. He was nice. I'll be nice.
