When I was in high school (probably like 14 or 15), my mom and I were driving home around 10 pm in a residential area of the medium sized city where we lived. Very few other cars out. It was typical Pacific NW so low lying later of clouds, light drizzle. We were stopped at a stop light, and I felt compelled to lean forward and look straight up above our car. There's this giant (hard to say size but at least the width of a 747) pitch black triangle dotted with lights along the edges, I would estimate about 100 feet off the ground. And it's just hovering there, completely still, no noise except maybe a vague droning noise (maybe that's why I looked up). I said "mom, you have to look up" and she did and we both just stared for what felt like a full minute. Eventually it slowly rose straight up into the clouds and was gone. I have always figured it was some experimental military plane (air force base nearby) or something, but kinda freaked me out.
