I regret how I handled my situation with my last best friend. I misplaced a lot of my own negative feelings on to them (although we both played our own part into things going south) and just shut down on them. They gave me a few chances and instead of trying I just kept messing them up out of my own spite and negativity. Once we stopped being friends I thought I was better off without them and some days I truly did believe it but a couple of weekends ago they were in my city for a music festival that we went to together last year and I realized a lot of things about myself and the situation. Things just kind of clicked all at once randomly and for the first time I kind of truly realized what I did. I doubt I get another chance (I certainly wouldn't give myself one) so it'll probably be something I will always regret but I guess if nothing else it was a valuable, but painful, learning experience.
