What is a show that Americans watch that non-Americans just don't understand?

No its not.

The thing that ruins the best skits for me is that they almost always break.

They are professionals. They are one rung below full-blown A-listers. They should be able to keep a straight face on national TV during a skit.

They arent doing standup. The stifled laughing isn't just to fill time or part of the joke. These people's job is to be actors in a skit. My local $10 entry BYOB improv troupe shouldn't be showing more professionalism on stage than the people at the top of their game.

And that's just it. Those people are likely at the top of their game. Because the one's who can keep their shit together usually move on fairly quickly onto better things.
